Outstanding innovation work

We are delighted to have been awarded the TOP 100 seal for innovative prowess and outstanding innovation achievements.

A factory of ideas

The TOP 100 seal is awarded every year to especially innovative small and medium-sized companies. We participated in the competition again this year after taking part for the first time in 2015. And once again, we were successful. The competition is run by compamedia and is based on a scientific selection process. Innovation researcher Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team assessed aixACCT Systems using over 100 indicators. The TOP 100 analysis focuses on whether companies plan their innovations systematically, as well as how new developments and product improvements perform on the market.

Living for innovation

“The desire to constantly drive innovation forward is part of our company’s DNA”; says Roland Kessels, Head of Technical Consulting and Sales. “It encourages us to do things that others cannot do with our level of expertise.” A good recent example is aixACCT’s work with AI in science, which has been ongoing since 2019. Over the course of around 18 months, we developed measurement hardware that makes it possible to characterize neural networks based on memristive materials. Memristorers serve as artificial synapses that could be capable of creating a kind of memory function in future. Other aixACCT Systems projects are focusing on deep learning algorithms and how to improve them. The aim is to create a program structure that can gather information on the aging or potential improvement of test structures or components, based on a relatively small amount of measurement data. This could play a decisive role in the development of piezo-based MEMS, for example.

Congratulations from Ranga Yogeshwar

This year sees compamedia award the TOP 100 seal for the 29th time. The scientific team is led by Dr. Nikolaus Franke, head and founder of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Vienna. The project has partnered with the Fraunhofer Society and the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW). Science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar is the mentor for the TOP 100. He will honor the prize winners in person at the official award ceremony, to be held at the summit of German small and medium-sized business on June 24 in Frankfurt. For us, this will be yet another occasion to celebrate.
